First Presentation Page & Mockup

The first presentation page I am submitting is for the musical, Singin' in the Rain. I liked the idea of recreating the logo for this show for many reasons. First of all, I love this musical and I liked the idea of continuing to redesign logos for shows. I was struggling with my ideas for the Spring Awakening redesign, but I had ideas floating around about this one. There are several designs of this logo that I like, but none that quite did what I wanted them to. I tried to stick the the old-Hollywood storyline of this show, so I kept my fonts very vintage. I love the color scheme that most of the logos used, so I stuck with that. I really liked the idea of an overhead view of an umbrella as my shape. Though it's pretty simple, I'm very happy with this logo. I think it was well worth the time and frustration.

I chose this particular mockup because I thought it was sort of reminiscent of the set design of the show. I love the brick and I liked the idea of having a poster being lit up on the side of the building. I can definitely imagine Gene Kelly hopping on the scooter after he does the big performance of the title song lol.
